FAQs

How does the consultation process work?

Please email through the contact form to set up a time for your consultation.

Consultations will either be done over email or in person depending on the complexity of the tattoo project.  They are free and will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Consultations are necessary if you would like a custom design for your tattoo. Please bring your ideas and any reference material on the subject matter to your consultation appointment. We always want to custom draw your tattoo and we want each client to have a unique and individual piece. Creative freedom is appreciated, but we aim to capture your desired concept. Please keep in mind we do not copy other peoples tattoos or artists drawings.

Please know the placement of your tattoo, approximate size, and whether you want colour/black&grey/Black work.

Don’t book a tattoo appointment before you go on vacation.  Especially a beach vacation! Your new tattoo will take 2-4 weeks to heal. During the healing process you will have to follow aftercare instructions.

A DEPOSIT OF $50 TO $200 IS MANDATORY TO BEGIN DRAWING CUSTOM ARTWORK AND TO SET AN APPOINTMENT TIME. This will be due at the conclusion of the consultation.  Please see below for further information.

What is the cancelling and/or rescheduling policy?

Please remember your deposit is non-refundable.  If you cancel, the deposit is given to the artist for any preparation time they have spent preparing for your tattoo.   If you cancel to reschedule within 48 hours of your appointment your deposit is forfeited and cannot be transferred over to the new appointment. A new deposit will need to be paid for to secure a new appointment.

Rescheduling your appointment may be done ONCE at no cost if outside the 48hour time frame. We require you to rebook your appointment with 7 days of cancelling your appointment or you forfeit your deposit.   If you reschedule within the 48hours, your deposit will be forfeited.

Rescheduling a touch-up appointment, we require 48hours notice. If you do not give adequate notice or do not show up for your touch up appointment, a $50 fee will be applied if you would like to reschedule.

Do you do custom drawings & are there fees?

Yes, we do. Custom designs can take about 2 weeks. Creative freedom is greatly appreciated and we want each client to have a unique and individual piece. We aim to capture your desired concept to the best of our ability but please keep in mind we do not copy other peoples tattoos or artists drawings.

Once the artwork is drawn up we will email you the design. We will communicate via email if you would like any revisions.  If you are completely not satisfied with the artwork and require a full redraw or multiple revisions you will be required to pay a drawing fee.  ALL ARTWORK IS PROPERTY OF THE ARTIST.  YOU MAY NOT TAKE THE ARTWORK TO ANOTHER ARTIST AND HAVE IT TATTOOED BY THEM.  NO ORIGINAL ARTWORK WILL BE GIVEN OR SOLD

A drawing fee is required for custom artwork if the client requires the artist to redraw fully the tattoo design or there are multiple requests to change/alter the design. The reason drawing fees are sometimes charged is because we put a lot of time into designing each piece,. Some can even take several days to complete, and drawing is usually done at home and on our days off.   The artist will notify you of the additional charge and it will be added to the bill at the first tattoo session .

How do I prepare for my appointment day?

Please show up on time for your appointment.  If you are going to be late, please call the shop to let us know before your scheduled time.  If you do not call and show up late with out calling your deposit will be forfeited.

Please eat a meal within two hours, stay hydrated and be ready to get tattooed. Sometimes a tattoo session may take a few hours.  You don’t want to be sitting there on an empty stomach which could make you feel restless. Also, food gives you energy which will help you endure the tattoo session, especially if the tattoo is in a painful location. Real food, not fast food!!

Do not consume alcohol or drugs. If you show up intoxicated you will not be tattooed and your deposit will be forfeited.

If you need to bring someone for support you may.  However, we have limited space to accommodate more than one support friend. The tattoo shop is 18+ and it is not an ideal environment for children or babies. Some tattoos take awhile to complete and young children get restless very quickly.

What is the policy regarding touch ups?

We offer ONE free touch up with in 6 months of of the date of your tattoo appointment.  If your tattoo requires a touch up and you followed all of the aftercare instructions given at the time of your tattoo appointment please schedule an appointment with the original artist.  Any touch-ups outside the 6 month window will be charged at the regular rate.

ALL FEET, HAND & NECK  will have a minimum $50 touch-up fee.

Rescheduling a touch-up appointment, we require 48 hours notice. If you do not give adequate notice or do not show up for your touch up appointment, a $50 fee will be applied if you would like to reschedule.

Do you have a minimum charge?

Yes.  There may be a minimum rate for one small tattoo that takes less than one hour to complete. This will be slightly lower than the artist's hourly rate. However, there may be factors that will increase the cost, such as; custom artwork, placement and colours. If a minimum rate applies, Jen will discuss the pricing with you during your consultation.

The minimum charge does not apply to hands, fingers, face, head or feet. And it only applies to one tattoo.

How much will my tattoo cost?

Jen's rate is $180/hour

The total price of your tattoo will depend on the length of time it takes to tattoo and the designing of custom artwork.  We cannot quote an exact price for your tattoo, we can only give you a rough idea.

How old do you have to be to get tattooed?

You must be 18 to be tattooed. No ifs, and or buts about it!!! We check photo ID.

 Is getting a tattoo painful?

Yes.  Some areas are more painful than others.  Sternum, ribs, hands, feet, knees, elbows, inner thighs & inner arms are the most painful.  It's important to prepare yourself for your upcoming tattoo session.  This will make the process more comfortable.  Refrain from partying the night before. Get a good night sleep, stay hydrated and eat a good meal before your appointment.  Alcohol and drugs (marijuana, ibuprofen etc...) are blood thinners. These will make it more painful and uncomfortable during the tattoo session.

Do you have Gift Certificates?

Yes! Gift certificates are available in any denomination. You may purchase directly from the shop
